What are the deeds that can equal the reward of supererogatory fasting for a working woman who is unable to fast due to her health and household circumstances?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

A woman's work and service to her children and their care are a source of reward if she intends it for the benefit of Muslims. The best of deeds are those that are most beneficial to the servant's heart. Some of the Salaf (early Muslims) abandoned voluntary fasting fearing it would weaken them from reciting the Quran. Therefore, a woman can occupy herself with the remembrance of Allah Almighty, reciting the Quran, and performing easy acts of obedience. There is no sin upon her for abandoning voluntary fasting, and she can perform other good deeds such as guiding others to good, feeding those who are fasting, and improving her character, which raises one's ranks. So, if a door of good opens for her, she should adhere to it.
