هل تريد نبذة عن حياة الإمام محمد بن عبد الوهاب ودعوته؟
Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab was born in 1115 AH in Uyaynah. He memorized the Qur’an before the age of ten and studied under his father. He traveled in pursuit of knowledge to Mecca, Medina, and Basra. He then met Prince Muhammad ibn Saud in Diriyah, where they agreed to spread Tawhid (monotheism). He faced harassment due to his da‘wah (call), and he authored books, including “Kitab al-Tawhid.” He passed away in 1206 AH.
The Shaykh is considered one of the most slandered and misrepresented figures, for reasons including: 1. The nature of his da‘wah, which called for pure Islam at a time when innovations (bid‘ah) were widespread. 2. The scarcity of Ahl al-Sunnah and the abundance of Ahl al-Bid‘ah (people of innovation) in his era. 3. The spread of printing and communication technologies, which facilitated the dissemination of slanders. 4. The exploitation of Hajj seasons to spread lies and distribute distorted books about his da‘wah. 5. The leadership of influential figures, such as Ahmad Zayni Dahlan, in the campaign of misrepresentation.
The Shaykh did not call to a specific madhhab (school of thought); rather, he was a follower of the Qur’an and Sunnah according to the understanding of the Salaf (pious predecessors). He personally responded to the fabrications of his opponents, clarifying that their accusations against him were a great falsehood, such as the claim that he invalidated the books of the madhahib, or excommunicated those who sought intercession through the righteous, or denied visiting the grave of the Prophet (peace be upon him), or claimed ijtihad (independent juristic reasoning).
