Is the fasting of a sick person that led to their death considered a good end, or did they err by not taking the concession, and does the Almighty’s saying apply to them: "And do not throw [yourselves] with your [own] hands into destruction"? And does the sick person who breaks their fast due to their illness receive the full reward for their fasting, or is their reward diminished?

A sick person who fears harm from fasting must break their fast, and it is unlawful for them to fast. If they fast and die because of it, they are considered to have killed themselves, and it is feared that they may not be among those who died with a good ending. It was narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) concerning a man who fasted while ill: "If he were to die, I would not pray over him."

The sick person receives full reward if they break their fast due to illness, for Allah records for them the reward of what they would have done while healthy and resident, because they were prevented from doing the deed due to an excuse.
