Al-Miqdad ibn al-Aswad is Al-Miqdad ibn Amr Al-Kindi. He became known as Al-Miqdad ibn al-Aswad because of his alliance with Al-Aswad ibn Abd Yaghuth and Al-Aswad's adoption of him. He married Dhuba'ah bint Al-Zubayr ibn Abd al-Muttalib, migrated twice, and witnessed the Battle of Badr and subsequent battles. It is said that he was the first to fight on horseback in the way of Allah. He passed away in the year thirty-three AH at the age of seventy.
