Will a Muslim be rewarded for relieving a distress from a non-Muslim?

Whoever relieves a distress from a peaceful disbeliever, whether they are a covenanted person (Mu'ahid) or a Dhimmi, will be rewarded for it; because their blood, honor, and property are to be respected, based on the Almighty's saying: "And they feed, for the love of Him, the needy, the orphan, and the captive" (Al-Insan: 8). The captive is often a disbelieving combatant. The intention should be to invite them to Islam and endear it to them.
