Is it permissible for a father to disinherit his daughter because he spent on her university education?
It is not permissible for a father or anyone else to deprive an heir of their lawful share of inheritance. This is considered a major sin, as Allah the Almighty says: "These are the limits [set by] Allah, and whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger will be admitted by Him to gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding eternally therein; and that is the great attainment. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger and transgresses His limits - He will put him into Fire, abiding eternally therein; and he will have a humiliating punishment." [An-Nisa: 13-14]. Furthermore, a father spending on his children's education without their consent is not permissible, due to the saying of the Prophet, peace be upon him: "The property of a Muslim is not lawful except with his willing consent."
