What is the ruling on naming a newborn girl Areen or Leen?

"Jamharat al-Lughah" states that (Ireen) is the plural of (Irah), meaning a pit in which fire is kindled for baking and grilling. There is no evidence that it means freedom or activity. As for (Leen), it means softness and the opposite of roughness.

If the meanings of the two names are as mentioned, then there is no objection to naming with them. However, if their meanings are other than what was mentioned, or if they are foreign, then it is not appropriate to name with them until their meanings are known; due to the possibility that they may contain something contrary to religion and morals. Clear Arabic names are sufficient and preclude the need for others.
