Does a divorce occur if you swore to your wife by divorce that she should not go to a wedding, then she went reluctantly, and you threw her clothes on the stairs without intending anything specific by throwing the clothes?

If the wife goes out for a wedding, the husband breaks his oath unless the father genuinely coerced her. Genuine coercion occurs when there is fear of death or severe beating, and it has conditions, including: the coercer's ability, the strong probability of the threat being carried out, and the harm being significant. Throwing clothes after her departure has no effect. If the father ordered and insisted on her going, and she went, her divorce occurs according to the prevalent juristic opinion. She can be taken back before the expiry of her iddah if the three divorces have not been completed. Some scholars are of the view that divorce does not occur if the oath was intended for emphasis and threat, and an expiation for breaking an oath becomes obligatory. The legislated oath is swearing by Allah the Almighty, whereas swearing by divorce is among the oaths of the dissolute.
