What is the ruling on dealing with a person who transitioned from male to female and later embraced Islam, and should a Muslim woman host this individual in the Land of the Two Holy Mosques as a female or a male?

A person's hatred of their own gender and their desire to change to the opposite gender is a psychological condition. It does not justify gender reassignment surgery, as these operations are forbidden by Islamic law for several reasons:

1. Changing the creation of Allah: As stated in the verse: (And I will surely command them, and they will alter the creation of Allah.) An-Nisa/119. 2. Forbidden imitation: It is authentically reported that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, cursed men who imitate women and women who imitate men. 3. Prohibition of effeminate men entering upon women: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade this and ordered such a person to be expelled from homes if he was perceptive to a woman's charms. 4. Lack of medical necessity: Doctors have affirmed that these surgeries are not based on medical necessity but are merely a personal desire.

Accordingly, it is not permissible for a woman to be in seclusion with him or to uncover her hijab in his presence, because he is, in reality, a male. He should be advised to consult a trustworthy psychiatrist and receive treatment, and to strengthen his connection to Islam through reliable scholars.
