Can every Muslim read Ibn al-Qayyim's books "Zad al-Ma'ad" and "Al-Da' wal-Dawa'," or does that require a certain level, such as a student of knowledge, or listening to their explanation from a shaykh?

Ibn al-Qayyim is Imam Shams al-Din Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr al-Zura'i. He was born in the year 691 AH and was a student of his shaykh Ibn Taymiyyah. He excelled in various sciences such as Tafsir (definition) (Qur'anic exegesis), Hadith (definition) (prophetic traditions), and Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence). He was distinguished by his abundant worship, lengthy prayers, and excellent character. He authored many works and wrote books in his beautiful handwriting. He was unparalleled in his knowledge, worship, and character, and he passed away in the year 751 AH.

As for Ibn al-Qayyim's two books, "Zad al-Ma'ad" and "Al-Da' wa al-Dawa'," they are beneficial and safe for every reader, regardless of their level of knowledge. "Zad al-Ma'ad" combines the Prophetic biography with Fiqh, and "Al-Da' wa al-Dawa'" addresses the ailments of the hearts resulting from desires in a lawful manner. Every reader can benefit from them, and the benefit increases by following the commentaries of reputable scholars.
