What is the ruling on saying "Rijal Allah" (Men of God) and what is the alternative to it?

It is permissible to use the phrase "men of God" for honorific purposes, and some scholars, such as Mulla Ali al-Qari, have used it. However, one must be cautious not to use it in a manner of self-praise, which is forbidden in the Almighty's saying: "So do not تزكوا yourselves; He is most knowing of who is righteous."
