Is it permissible to use Vaseline during Ihram, knowing that it may not be used for perfuming, but it might have a scent, and its use might prevent exposure to diseases that hinder the completion of the obligatory ritual? And is it permissible to use the Ihram garment belt that has a thread?

The ruling on Vaseline was previously explained in Fatwa no. 92369.

As for a pilgrim in ihram wearing a belt, there is no harm in it. It is not among the sewn garments that are prohibited, because the prohibited sewn garments are those made to fit a limb, such as shirts and trousers, and not merely something in which stitching is found.
