How can one persist in performing the Sunnah prayers without قطع them after a period?

Abandoning the Sunnah (Prophetic traditions) leads to missing out on much good and is likely to result in neglecting obligatory duties. Abundance in supererogatory acts (Nawafil) is a cause for Allah's love and the answering of prayers, just as the Sunnah completes what is deficient in the obligatory duties on the Day of Judgment. To be diligent in observing the Sunnah, recall these virtues, be keen on gatherings of remembrance (Dhikr), pray in congregation, sit with the righteous, distance yourself from people of iniquity and immorality, and reduce your love for this world.
