Is persevering in performing some Sunnahs while abandoning others sufficient so that one does not fall into the sin of abandoning the Sunnahs?

Persistently abandoning Sunan (plural of Sunnah (definition), recommended acts) may constitute a deficiency in one's religious practice, and could even be considered fisq (transgression) if the abandonment stems from laziness and negligence. The primary concern often revolves around forsaking the regular Sunan, such as congregational prayer, which some scholars believe, if persistently abandoned, can diminish one's integrity (adalah). Ibn Taymiyyah held that continuous abandonment of the Sunan is a form of dereliction, and one should be diligent in performing supererogatory acts (Nawafil) due to their immense reward. It is mentioned in a Hadith (definition) Qudsi that a servant draws closer to Allah through supererogatory acts until Allah loves him.
