What should I do to lift Allah's wrath and punishment after breaking numerous oaths whose number I do not know?

A Muslim should not swear excessively, as it involves daring to invoke Allah and disrespecting His names. Allah Almighty says: "And do not make [your oath by] Allah an obstruction against your doing good" and "And do not obey every frequent swearer, contemptible [and] worthless."

If a Muslim repeats an oath intending to emphasize abstaining from a certain act, and then breaks it, only one expiation for an oath is required. However, if he did not intend emphasis but rather intended to create each oath independently, then he must offer an expiation for each oath, and the intention is what determines the multiplicity of the expiation.

If the swearer does not know the number of oaths he has sworn, he must act cautiously until he absolves himself of responsibility or is reasonably certain thereof.
