Is there a cure in Islam for emotional void or suppression, and is the desire to experience a pure and honorable love story—without sexual desire and without marriage or financial capability—forbidden or permissible?

The cause of emotional emptiness is the heart's heedlessness of knowing Allah, loving Him, feeling solace with Him, and yearning to meet Him. It is also caused by preoccupation with fleeting desires and vain hopes, and attachment to the world and its adornments. Therefore, the servant must hasten to rectify his condition. Islam does not recognize love between a man and an unrelated woman except through lawful marriage. Mere seclusion between them is forbidden, and the so-called chaste love is not permissible. As for the psychological thoughts that occupy the mind, if they are mere passing thoughts not dwelled upon, then there is no blame in them, and they are forgiven. However, if one dwells on them, takes pleasure in them, and resolves to act upon them, then the matter enters the realm of prohibition and impermissibility.
