Is light laughter, when asking a brother about a device he intends to buy, and which was meant to show asceticism in this world, considered mockery of ascetics?

Wasswasa (obsessive whispering/thoughts) is a great evil, and one must turn away from it and not pay attention to it. One should strive to gain a deep understanding of the religion and occupy one's time with what is beneficial. The default is that a servant remains Muslim until there is certain proof to the contrary. If a Muslim's words can be interpreted as apostasy or otherwise, he is not to be declared a disbeliever, especially one afflicted by wasswasa, for it is more appropriate to avert the imposition of legal penalties from Muslims.
