What is the ruling on a wife leaving without her husband's knowledge while there is a dispute between them?

A woman is not permitted to leave her husband's home except with his permission, unless there is a legitimate Shar'i excuse. Examples include going out for her essential needs and returning quickly, or leaving for a religious duty such as inquiring about matters of her religion, performing the obligatory Hajj, or visiting her parents according to some scholars. If she leaves without his permission and without a legitimate Shar'i excuse, she is considered disobedient and rebellious (nashiz). Among the legitimate Shar'i excuses, according to some scholars, is if the husband is oppressive towards her, in which case she is permitted to go to her parents' home.
