What is the ruling on a husband who talks to foreign women about sexual matters, sometimes engages in cybersex, and reveals to them the private details of the marital bed? Is his act considered metaphorical zina (fornication/adultery)? Is the wife entitled to seek divorce for this reason? And is he legally punishable for these actions?

Speaking between marriageable men and women about sexual matters is forbidden by Islamic law and is considered figurative zina (fornication/adultery), as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The zina of the eyes is looking, the zina of the tongue is speaking, the soul wishes and desires, and the private parts either confirm or deny all of that."

A husband disclosing matters of intimacy with his wife is not permissible, and the offense is greater if he discloses them to a marriageable woman. If the husband insists on committing such reprehensible acts, this permits the wife to seek talaq (divorce) due to immorality, and this should be done through the Sharia judge.

These actions do not have a specific prescribed punishment in Islamic law, but the Sharia judge may impose a discretionary punishment (ta'zir) for them.
