If the wife's travel to France is at her husband's request, then she is obligated to obey him, and his obedience takes precedence over her mother's obedience, while still being kind to her mother and trying to appease her. However, if the travel is forbidden, such as her inability to observe her religious rituals there, then obedience to the husband is not permissible, because there is no obedience to a creature in disobedience to the Creator. In this case, she must obey her mother and refrain from traveling.
