Lowering the gaze has tremendous benefits, including: obedience to Allah and His Messenger, bestowing wisdom and light upon the heart, safeguarding one's chastity and purifying the soul, showing gratitude for the blessing of sight, inheriting the love of Allah, triumphing over one's self, preserving the heart from desires, protecting society from vice, cultivating good character, and bestowing perspicacity.
