Is supplication answered if the reported remembrance is recited after waking up, without having performed ablution before sleeping, or is ablution before sleeping a condition for the supplication to be answered after this remembrance?

Al-Bukhari and others narrated from 'Ubada ibn al-Samit that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever stirs in the night and says upon waking: 'There is no god but Allah, alone, without partner. To Him belongs all sovereignty and all praise, and He is over all things competent. Glory be to Allah, and praise be to Allah, and there is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest. There is no might nor power except with Allah, the Most High, the Most Mighty.' Then he supplicates: 'My Lord, forgive me,' he will be forgiven. Or he said: 'he supplicated, and he was answered.' Then if he stands, performs ablution, and prays, his prayer will be accepted." This reward and virtue are attained by whoever acts upon it, without stipulating that one must sleep in a state of ritual purity.
