What is the ruling on dealing with a quick-tempered mother who utters hurtful words and expresses her displeasure in every problem, leading to arguments with her? And in this case, is the son or daughter considered undutiful, fearing Allah's wrath upon them? And how can she be appeased while avoiding recurring problems?

The pleasure of the Lord is from the pleasure of the parents, and His wrath is from their wrath. Therefore, one must be keen to earn their pleasure and avoid their displeasure. If the mother becomes angry or harms her son, this does not justify mistreating her or raising one's voice at her, for that is an act of disobedience (to parents). One must repent from any previous mistreatment of the mother and seek her forgiveness, for whoever repents, Allah accepts his repentance.
