The answer

Allah afflicts His servants with trials to test them. The believer must show patience and contentment with Allah's decree, for in this there is immense reward. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The greatness of the reward is proportional to the greatness of the affliction."

Seek the cause of your suffering and try to remedy it. Seek help from Allah and maintain the pillars of Islam, especially congregational prayer in the mosque. Mix with Muslims, repent sincerely to Allah the Almighty, and increase your remembrance of Him, for by His remembrance hearts find tranquility. Among the beneficial supplications are: "There is no god but You; glory be to You. Indeed, I was among the wrongdoers," and "Allah is sufficient for me, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs," and "O Allah, there is no ease except in that which You have made easy, and You make sorrow, if You wish, easy," and "Indeed, adversity has touched me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful."
