How can I reconcile my obedience to God and my desire to please Him, with my family's opposition to that?

It is obligatory for a Muslim to adhere to the commands of Allah and avoid His prohibitions, as there can be no compromise in such matters. "There is no obedience to a creature in disobedience to the Creator." A Muslim must endure trials with patience, remembering, "Whoever pleases people by displeasing Allah, Allah will abandon him to the people. And whoever displeases people by pleasing Allah, Allah will suffice him against the people."
