Has Islam specified an age for play? For which age, and what are these games?
Permissible play is divided into two types: general play that is permissible at all stages of life, encompassing everything with which a Muslim amuses himself, provided it is truthful and not false. Examples include archery, horse training, playing with one's family, and similar sports that build the body and maintain health, such as swimming, fencing, and wrestling. This is permissible on condition that it is not accompanied by anything that would render it forbidden, and that it is not an end in itself, but rather a means for preparation, recreation, or health maintenance.
The second type is play specific to one group and not others, such as making dolls with shadows for girls to accustom them to compassion and raising children.
