Does God preordain matters for His servants so they may follow a specific path, based on His foreknowledge of what is in their hearts, as happened with Adam and Iblis?

Allah Almighty is the ordainer of destinies and the Knower of the secrets of souls. All creatures, including Iblis, only manifest what Allah has destined, known, and ordained. Nevertheless, they possess will, volition, and capabilities for which they will be held accountable, and these capabilities are governed by Allah's power. Some exegetes, such as Sayyid Qutb, have interpreted the stories of Prophets Yusuf and Ibrahim (peace be upon them) as divine preordainments for great purposes that transcend individual events. It is advised to avoid delving deeply into matters of destiny and to believe in what is stated in the Qur'an and Sunnah (definition): that Allah has ordained the destinies of creation, known them, written them, willed them, and created them. Indeed, delving deeply into such matters may lead to failure.
