What is the Shariah ruling and the appropriate advice for a man who has been married for 19 years and is suffering from a wife who is demanding separation, claiming she cannot bear the pressures of financial life and wishes to search for another man, despite his repeated attempts to preserve the marriage and his forgiveness of her past behaviors?

If you are fulfilling your wife's rights without causing her harm, she does not have the right to demand a divorce. You are permitted to refuse divorcing her until she waives some of your rights. If she dislikes you and fears she might not fulfill your rights, she may seek a khul‘ (dissolution of marriage initiated by the wife), and it is recommended for you to agree to the khul‘. Ibn Muflih said: "It is permissible due to bad marital relations between the spouses, and it is recommended to agree to it."
