Is writing stories about chaste, pure love, free from obscenity, forbidden?

There is no harm in writing purposeful stories and poetry, and love stories that are free from what Allah has forbidden are permissible for learning. The Companions used to recite poetry in the presence of the Prophet, peace be upon him, and listen to pre-Islamic poetry despite its flaws. Thus, teaching stories, whether about love or otherwise, is permissible as long as the intention is education and it is free from what is forbidden.
