The answer

It is permissible to perform ' on behalf of someone else, provided that the proxy has already performed 'Umrah for himself. He should make the on behalf of the one for whom he is performing 'Umrah and recite his usual supplications. He may also supplicate for the one on whose behalf he is performing 'Umrah. It is permissible for the one performing 'Umrah or Hajj to shop, as long as it does not distract him from an obligatory or recommended act. This is permissible both before and after 'Umrah, but one should not overdo it after the Farewell .
