Is it permissible to look at the teacher while he is explaining in school, given that it is a look of necessity? What is the reason for the intense feeling of discomfort and sin when looking at him? What is the concept of looking with lust and without it, and how can one differentiate between them? Is there a sin incurred by an unintentional glance at men on the street? Are these feelings considered waswas (whispers from Satan)? How can one deal with pictures of men on social media and websites, and should one quickly avert their gaze from them? When speaking with a man out of necessity, should one avert their gaze from him or look at the ground? What is the practical definition of lowering the gaze?

May Allah reward you for your diligence in the matter of looking. A glance is one of the arrows of Satan, and its consequences are countless.

1. The fundamental ruling on a woman looking at a non-mahram man is permissible in Islamic law, unless something occurs that necessitates its prohibition, such as suspicion (riba) or the like.

2. What is meant by suspicion (riba) is the inclination of the gazer towards what is being looked at and finding pleasure in seeing it. So, if you notice within yourself an inclination towards what is being looked at or a lustful enjoyment of it, then looking becomes forbidden at that point. If the matter is unclear to you, refraining from it is safer.

3. Lowering the gaze is done by averting it from what is being looked at towards the ground or another direction.
