Is expiation obligatory for one who made a covenant with Allah regarding certain matters then violated it, knowing that he was unaware that "I covenant with Allah" is like an oath? And what is the manner of expiation if he does not possess sufficient funds, and is it permissible to take money from one's father for expiation, and is it permissible to delay expiation for years, and does that affect the acceptance of zakat? And what is the definition of a "miskin" (needy person) who is to be fed?
You are under the influence of waswas (whispers/obsessive thoughts). If what you uttered was merely an intention and a resolve, then nothing is incumbent upon you. And if you pronounced what was mentioned under the influence of waswas or broke an oath because of it, then there is nothing upon you. You may act according to the Hanbali school of thought, which stipulates that only one expiation is required for all oaths or vows. The expiation is to feed ten needy persons, or clothe them, or free a slave. You can use the money your father gave you for this purpose. If you do not have anything to feed them with, then fast for three days, and it is more prudent that this be done consecutively. Abandon these waswas and pay no attention to them, for yielding to them leads to great evil.
