Is the meteor that fell in Russia a shooting star with which the devils who eavesdrop were pelted?

A meteorite might be a remnant of a meteor that reaches the earth, or another type of celestial projectile. Scholars have stated that meteors are meteorites launched from stars, and these are what descend to earth. Some of them hold the view that meteors are celestial bodies that burn up upon entering Earth's atmosphere, whereas meteorites are the solid masses that penetrate the atmosphere and reach the earth. Meteors and meteorites are cosmic phenomena that do not contradict the religious texts which state that stars were created as ornaments, projectiles for devils, and signs. Thus, meteors could result from both these functions.
