How was the Messenger, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him, and his time in Ramadan?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The Prophet (peace be upon him) was the most generous of people in doing good during Ramadan, especially in the last ten nights. He would exert himself in worship, including prayer, night vigil (Qiyam), and recitation of the Quran, and he would wake his family for it. He would also seclude himself (i'tikaf) in the mosque during the last ten nights of Ramadan, seeking Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Decree), for he knew it was during that period. Thus, Ramadan was a month of diligent worship of various kinds, and a month of struggle and battles. Therefore, a Muslim should strive in Ramadan and utilize their time in worship.
