Did the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, sleep during the last ten days of Ramadan if he spent the entire night in worship during them?

Scholars have differed regarding whether the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, stayed up the entire night in prayer during the last ten nights of Ramadan, due to a conflict between two hadiths narrated by Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her.

One states: "When the last ten nights of Ramadan began, he would tighten his waist-wrapper, stay awake the entire night, and awaken his family" (Bukhari and Muslim). Some scholars interpreted "stay awake the entire night" to mean performing qiyam (night prayer) for the whole night, especially during the last ten nights.

The other states: "And I never saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, pray the entire night until morning" (Muslim). Some scholars interpreted "stay awake the entire night" to mean most of the night, not the entire night, based on this hadith.

Nevertheless, some scholars have favored the view that he, peace and blessings be upon him, did stay up the entire night in prayer during the last ten nights, relying on his habit of taking a nap (qailulah) during the day, which the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and his Companions consistently observed.

In summary, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, would pray and sleep, and he would not stay up the entire night in prayer except during the last ten nights due to their virtue, and he would aid himself in this by taking a nap during the day.
