How can severe depression and health and financial fears be dealt with by seeking assistance from Islamic advice?

Seeking forgiveness brings good and wards off evil, for Allah says: (And said, 'Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever Forgiving. He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in [continuing] showers And give you increase in wealth and children and make for you gardens and make for you rivers.')

It is also recommended to turn to Allah with supplication and humility, for He alone is capable of removing harm, as Allah says: (And if Allah should touch you with adversity, there is no remover of it except Him). One must have a good opinion of Allah and avoid having a bad opinion of Him, for the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: (I am as My servant thinks of Me, and I am with him when he remembers Me).

One must take material means for treatment and sustenance, for Allah sent down both ailments and remedies, and His predestination of sustenance does not prevent lawful effort, as Allah says: (And there is no creature on earth but that upon Allah is its provision), and (And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out And will provide for him from where he does not expect).

One should look at those who are in a worse condition to appreciate Allah's blessings, for the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: (Look at those who are beneath you, and do not look at those who are above you, for that is more likely to make you not belittle the blessing of Allah upon you). Righteousness towards parents is required, and even if one is unable to support them due to illness or financial hardship, a good intention is sufficient, and the reward is not cut off, for the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: (If a servant falls ill or travels, he is written down as having done what he used to do when he was healthy and resident).
