Is it obligatory to make up prayers missed from the age of ten until thirty-six?

Prayer is the pillar of faith, and severe warnings have been established against those who abandon it or are negligent concerning it. Allah Almighty says: "There came after them a generation who neglected prayers and pursued desires; so they are going to meet evil." (Maryam: 59). Therefore, hasten to repent to Allah, and increase your acts of seeking forgiveness and performing righteous deeds. The obligation of making up missed prayers is the view of the majority of scholars, and making them up should begin after one of the signs of puberty is confirmed. If you cannot ascertain the exact number of missed prayers, continue making them up until you are reasonably certain that you have discharged your responsibility. Some scholars hold the view that whoever abandons prayer without a valid excuse is not required to make it up, but rather should increase in supererogatory prayers and repent to Allah Almighty. However, making up the prayers is closer to caution in religious matters.
