What is the solution to the problem of young people refraining from Fajr prayer in congregation under the pretext of impurity, and delaying ghusl and prayer until the end of the day, and what is the secret to their worldly success despite this action?
This problem stems from a corruption in perception and requires correcting misconceptions about faith, the sincerity of repentance, and commitment to prayers. Indeed, delaying prayer beyond its prescribed time is considered disbelief by most of the Salaf. Young people should be advised and guided to some preachers to correct their mistaken notions, or be provided with tapes and booklets about repentance. If they do not respond, then abandoning them becomes obligatory. As for their success despite disobeying Allah, it is a gradual enticement (istidraj). The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If you see Allah giving a servant what he loves from this world despite his sins, then it is merely a gradual enticement (istidraj)," and he recited the verse: (So when they forgot that by which they had been reminded, We opened to them the gates of every [good] thing until, when they rejoiced in what they had been given, We seized them unexpectedly, and suddenly they were in despair). Other verses also clarified that whoever desires this world and its adornment will receive it in this world, but will have nothing in the Hereafter except the Fire, and that what is given to disbelievers is the enjoyment of worldly life, and that whoever desires the immediate will have what he wishes hastened to him in it, and then Hell will be his abode.
