Is a fiancé kissing his fiancée included in the "lamam" mentioned in the Holy Qur'an?

A suitor kissing his fiancée is considered one of the minor sins (zina al-jawareh), specifically from the category of "lamam" mentioned in the verse: (Those who avoid the greater sins and immoralities, except for lamam). This is provided it is not done with persistence, because persistence in minor sins elevates them to major sins. Ibn Abbas's interpretation of "lamam" as touching, looking, and similar actions is the most authoritative view.
