What is the meaning of (al-lamam)? And in which Surah was it mentioned?
Al-lamam (minor sins) refers to the minor transgressions that no one avoids falling into except those whom Allah protects. There is disagreement regarding its meaning: some say it refers to anything short of zina (fornication/adultery), while others say it refers to anything short of sexual intercourse, such as kissing, winking, looking (with lust), and lying down together. It has been narrated from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that al-lamam includes the zina of the eyes through looking and the zina of the tongue through speaking, and the soul wishes and desires, and the private parts either confirm or deny that. Al-lamam is mentioned in Surah An-Najm in Allah's Almighty saying: "Those who avoid great sins and immoralities, except for minor offenses. Indeed, your Lord is vast in forgiveness."
