The decline in ijtihad (independent reasoning) and the weakening of the scientific level might be due to the evil eye or envy, for every possessor of blessings is envied. We recommend consistent ruqyah (Islamic exorcism/healing). We also recommend piety and staying away from sins, as sins diminish blessings. Knowledge is light, and Allah's light is not guided to a disobedient person. We emphasize the necessity of adhering to Shariah guidelines when seeking knowledge from men or in mixed environments. As for supplication (du'a), every supplication for improving one's condition, removing harm, strengthening memory, and enhancing understanding is beneficial, for Allah has promised to answer the supplications of those who supplicate.
