Do the aforementioned symptoms—a decline in academic achievement, tardiness in studying, fear of death alongside a lack of devotion in prayer, committing sins, inability to study or read the Quran, and postponing ذكر (remembrance of Allah)—indicate affliction by the evil eye or sorcery, and what is the method for self-Ruqyah?

The path to happiness in this world and the hereafter is obedience to Allah and turning to Him. A servant must strive against his own self by doing what Allah loves and abandoning what displeases Him. Divine aid will accompany him to the extent of his striving, for Allah says: "And those who strive for Us – We will surely guide them to Our ways. And indeed, Allah is with the doers of good." If a servant strives in obedience to his Lord, his life will be good in this world and the hereafter, as Allah Almighty says: "Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer – We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them their reward [in the Hereafter] according to the best of what they used to do." The evil eye and magic are real and have an effect by Allah's permission, but a servant should not attribute every harm or setback to them, especially if there are tangible causes that can be treated. The use of legitimate Islamic incantations (ruqyah) is good in all cases.
