Is it permissible to act upon the hadith: "Yā Sīn, for whatever it is recited for," considering the permissibility of acting upon weak hadiths regarding the virtues of deeds, or is the hadith exceedingly weak and therefore not to be acted upon, and how can a layperson act upon a weak hadith when he cannot properly apply its three conditions, or should he abandon it?

The saying "Yaseen is for whatever it is recited for" is not a hadith at all. Scholars have explicitly stated that it has no origin from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and that it is false. Even if it had an origin, it would be extremely weak and would not fall under the category of weak hadiths that can be acted upon. Consequently, it is not permissible to act upon this phrase, and scholars have described those who assert its authenticity as ignorant and daring to speak without knowledge.
