Will I be rewarded after dedicating the reward of Umrah to a deceased woman, and is it permissible to dedicate the reward of Umrah to more than one deceased person?

The madhhab (school of thought) of most scholars is that the deceased benefits from the reward of acts of worship gifted to them, such as 'Umrah. Therefore, there is no harm in performing 'Umrah on behalf of the woman, and the one who does so will be rewarded for it. However, gifting the reward of 'Umrah to more than one deceased person by performing 'Umrah and making the talbiyah (invocation) for them has not been authentically reported in the Sunnah, and it is not permissible to enter into ihram on behalf of more than one person. Imam An-Nawawi said: "Ihram cannot be initiated for two people." Thus, you must dedicate your ihram for 'Umrah either to yourself or to a specific person. As for intending to gift the reward by performing 'Umrah for yourself and then dedicating its reward to one or more deceased persons, some scholars have permitted this.
