The "Indeed, for everything there is a lineage, and the lineage of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, is: 'Say: He is Allah, the One and Only; Allah, the Eternal, Absolute'" is very weak, and Wazi' ibn Nafi' is abandoned (matruk). In this regard, it has been narrated from Ubayy ibn Ka'b that the polytheists asked the Prophet about the lineage of his Lord, whereupon Al- was revealed, describing Allah as One, the Eternal, Absolute; He begets not, nor is He begotten; and there is none comparable to Him. Al-Bayhaqi also narrated with a good chain from Ibn Abbas that the Jews asked the Prophet about the description of his Lord, and this Surah was revealed.
