What is the ruling on frequent doubt in prayer and ablution, and on interrupting prayer because of it? Is it permissible not to pay attention to such doubt and to complete the prayer? And what is the ruling on sounds emanating from the abdomen?

Whispering (waswasah) corrupts both one's religious practice and worldly life. Therefore, it must be repelled, and one should not succumb to it. So, whoever performs ablution should not repeat it, and whoever prays should not pay attention to doubts about recitation or anything else, and should not repeat the prayer. Doubts during prayer are not to be heeded, and the prostration of forgetfulness (sujud (definition) al-sahw) is not performed because of them, unless there is certain knowledge of a reason for sujud al-sahw. Sounds inside the stomach do not invalidate ablution unless one is certain that gas has been emitted.
