"Whoever catches the Imam in the final is not considered to have caught the virtue of congregational prayer. Adding the Salat al-Ibrahimiyyah (Ibrahimic prayer) in this situation is not blameworthy; rather, it contains reward and recompense. It is recommended for whoever catches the Imam to follow him in the state in which he found him, even if that rak'ah is not counted for him, due to the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: 'When you come to the prayer and we are prostrating, then prostrate, and do not count it as anything. And whoever catches the ruku' (bowing) has caught the rak'ah.' And his saying: 'If one of you comes and the Imam is in a certain state, let him do as the Imam does.'"
