Do committing sins and transgressions reduce one's provision and wealth? And to what extent do past sins affect current provision, especially when comparing one's provision to that of another person who does not commit such sins?

Sins have an effect on the scarcity of sustenance, and obedience has an effect on its increase. Faith and piety bring blessings and abundant provision, as stated in the Holy Qur’an. Ibn al-Qayyim affirmed that sins are a cause of deprivation of sustenance, while abandoning sins brings sustenance. Therefore, a Muslim should strive in obedience to Allah and His Taqwa (piety), and rely upon Him, for Allah makes a way out for those who fear Him and provides for them from where they do not expect, and He is sufficient for whoever relies upon Him.
