Will a servant be saved from the Fire on the Day of Judgment because of wealth he possesses among people, or backbiting they committed against him, even though he died having committed many sins, both major and minor, that warrant his entry into the Fire?

The belief of Ahl al-Sunnah (definition) wa al-Jama’ah is that whoever dies persistently committing major sins is under the will of Allah. If He wills, He will punish him, and if He wills, He will forgive him, based on His saying, the Almighty: "Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills," and based on the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) saying regarding the one who commits major sins: "And whoever commits something of that and Allah conceals it, then his affair is up to Allah; if He wills, He will punish him, and if He wills, He will forgive him." The major sinner may also have his good deeds taken from him to compensate for his wrongdoing, or the evil deeds of others may be cast upon him if they have no good deeds.
