When did the soul come into being in the human body: at the blowing of the spirit, or before it, or after it? And what is the difference between the soul and original sin according to Christians? Is the soul inherited from parents? And what is the role of the soul in Ramadan?

The soul that governs the body is the spirit breathed into it. The term "nafs" (self/soul) is used in the context of governing the body, while the term "ruh" (spirit) is used in the context of subtlety. The term "nafs" also refers to the Nafs al-Ammara bi'l-Su' (the soul that incites to evil), the Nafs al-Lawwama (the self-reproaching soul), and the Nafs al-Mutma'inna (the tranquil soul); these are attributes of one and the same essence.

The concept of original sin among Christians is false, for Allah does not burden anyone with the sin of another, and Adam repented to his Lord, and Allah forgave him. Every soul bears its own sin, and repentance forgives sins, as indicated by texts from the Old and New Testaments. As for the inheritance of traits and concepts, it is not inevitable, and every soul will have what it has earned and will be held accountable for what it has acquired. The Nafs al-Mutma'inna benefits from Ramadan (definition), and the Nafs al-Lawwama finds it a suitable environment for obedience, while the Nafs al-Ammara bi'l-Su' does not benefit from it except through sincere repentance.
